About Myrte

Along with experiences of joy, vitality and positive change I have been challenged to be able to live up to this myself. Confronted with this I experienced the pain of not allowing myself to be as heartfelt towards myself as I was with others nearby.

My journey was a journey of taking back my life. Being a teenager I lost both of my parents within a short period of time. Dealing with this and earlier experiences of emotional violence at home made it painfully clear I had to find out what life was worth living for, just for me.

My inner quest was a process of falling and rising. Starting my college days I found it hard to fully enjoy the pleasure and freedom of a student, dealing with anorexia and depression. Working as a personal injury lawyer turned out to be an important lesson for me too. Truly determined to fight for the rights of my clients, I ran into my own boundaries and found myself at home with a burnout.

Opening myself for the support of my family, friends, and therapists in challenging times helped me to stay truthful to myself, to my own natural rhythm and flow. Following this I have let go of my beloved partner, travelled through India and started a new intensive study as Therapist at ‘School of Life’ (opleidingsinstituut voor levenstherapie). Life events and choices like these made me stronger and opened up my heart for real. It clarified and deepened the contact I love to have with myself and others. Up to today I find new ways of expressing myself, mindfully, open-minded and filled with energy. Reminding myself of the true power I can feel within my whole body.
